Baby

Baby presents the image of an individual at the beginning of their search for identity. It is a shift from complete presence to thought, and is something that is ingrained in us by our surroundings from a very young age. Processing information through the filter of ego results in perception, and, through that perception, we divide our reality up into segments or, thoughts. To remove the filter of perception is to see the true essence of the universe. It is as you are.

In the piece we see an infant becoming separated from their five senses. Removal or diminishing the senses is a symbol of the loss of one’s true nature. The infant’s hands exist only in the future, a dreamscape where it is not uncommon for people to spend their time. Thought is represented through the use of clouds. Just as the clouds are divided and segmented, so we divide and segment the universe to suit our perceptions. Surrender of ones ‘Self’ to the flow of the Universe (or the unending current moment), disarms the power of thought.
